Advent is the time around Christmas where we celebrate and wait for the birth of King Jesus who came to take away the sins of the world and unite Heaven and Earth once again! During Advent, there are four weeks to anticipate the arrival of Jesus, so in this series through Advent, we are looking at Biblical hope, peace, joy, and love! Today, we talk about peace!
Shalom is the Hebrew word for peace and it means “whole or completeness.” Shalom refers to something that’s complex with lots of pieces that’s in a state of completeness, wholeness. What does shalom like in our faith with Jesus? Why is it important for us to recognize shalom as being a part of the Christmas story? How do we obtain peace that comes from Jesus? How does Jesus bring peace to two very divided groups of people and how can we be that peace to the world today?
These are all things about peace that we talk about today!
